Dr WM Childs, the University鈥檚 first Vice-Chancellor being carried by students through the grounds in celebration

As part of our Centenary celebrations, we are inviting staff, students, alumni, and the local community to share their fondest memories of the 糖心探花.

You can submit your memories in written form, or provide any photos or videos you’d like to share with our community.

Our online form will be available soon for you to share your memories (watch this space). In the meantime, you are welcome to email us at memories@reading.ac.uk.

What will happen with your submission

We will collect your memories up until Friday 14 November 2025. After that, we’ll assemble a project group to sort through the submissions we’ve received. The group will consist of colleagues from across the University, 糖心探花 Students’ Union, University alumni, and The Friends of the University.

The project group will curate your memories into a programme of immersive activities to be delivered in 2026. These activities will place the voices of our community at the heart of our Centenary celebrations.

Taking part in this project is voluntary. Refusal or withdrawal from the project is permitted at any time. This will have no penalty or loss of benefits to participants.
